Meet Tony Woodruff

I got involved into fitness in 2007. I was overweight and unhappy with my life. I decided i need to make a

change! At the time I had wanted to become a MMA fighter. I didn't want to step into a cage shirtless and in shorts with the way i looked at the time. I was 250 lbs. and about 45% body fat! I started changing my eating habits and going to the gym all while reading every article i could find on bodybuilding.com. I lost about 70 lbs. in that first year and had my first fight. The leaner I got and the more I learned about bodybuilding the further I got away from MMA.

I was preparing for my first bodybuilding show when I did my first strongman competition.  I was instantly hooked and fell in love with strongman and abandoned my bodybuilding goals. I was fairly successful in strongman placing 2nd at Wyoming's Strongest Man 3x. I had a top 5 finish at Colorado's Strongest man as well. The atmosphere of strongman is unlike any other, its like a family! Everyone is competing against each other but you'd never know by listening to everyone cheer each other on!

To deal with the lapse in time between strongman competitions I then took up Powerlifting to fulfill my need to compete. I love powerlifting for the same reasons I do strongman. Its a solo sport but everyone is on the same team on that platform cheering each other on! I've found success in powerlifting winning nearly every meet I've entered at two different weight classes. I hold referee status in two different federations as well as competing in three different federations as well.

I find great joy coaching people and helping them reach goals they never thought possible. There is nothing like helping someone fix a small thing with their form and they hit a huge personal best. Finding out someones goals and then crushing them beyond what they thought was possible!! That's why I became a certified instructor I just want to help out my community as well as build one around strength
